Anyone unfortunate to have a contract with Carphonewarehouse that is
due for renewal. DO NOT phone and enquire about the upgrade offer they
will send to you prior to your contract ending. They will take this to
mean that you want to except the "FREE" upgrade and extend the contract
by 12 months
When you attempt to cancel this upgrade they will tell you can't as
there id no cooling off period and you now have a new 12 month contract
at last years rates.g (despite the fact that one they send you the
phone it includes a contract that implies you can).
If you then attempt to contact customer services you will spend hours
listening to music only to  be put through to someone who tells you you
need to talk  to another department you get transferred and cut off (at
least it ges rid of the music). You could try emailing the department
of the CEO Charles Dunstone from CPW website but don't expect anything
but an automate response. You will get somne reponse from CPW
eemployees who  want to help but nothing will happen. You can then try
OFCOM and trading standards but CPW just stonewall them,

Cheers,

They can't unless you are stupid enough to ask for the free upgrade.  It's
hardly the fault of the shop if you didn't look around first before agreeing
to a new phone and contract.  They always record calls, so if you are so
sure of what was said - let them take legal action, they will produce the
tape in court and you will walk away a lot better off.
