A Friend has just had his brand new Sony k800i on an Orange Contract
(bought direct from orange) stolen. I am trying (at a distance) to find a
way back to where he was without spending £300 on a replacement phone.

Does anyone know of a 'Free' cashback contract involving this phone and or
know whether Orange automatically sell you Insurance when you buy from them
direct - phone was purchased 15/9/06.

Any help appreciated - I do hope he has learnt a lesson.

Thanks

Check out www.reestitmutton.co.uk or www.mobilechecker.com

It's unlikely to be free (ie 100% cashback) as it's a fairly expensive
phone.

Orange Care would not normally be added on without your permission,
unless you take out a Business Plan, when it is included free of charge
(it used to be included free on their consumer Premier plans also).

Has he household insurance? If he has he should able to claim on that.

My policy lets me claim for portable techology lost/stolen out of the house.

Insurance would have been offered, not forced.

Emergency Care from Orange at £70 might be the best bet. Your friend
should discuss this directly with Orange.
