I sent my first cashback claim off on the 31st October and used the
Royal Mail "signed for" service.

Should I be worried that I can't as yet track the delivery? My suspicion
is that no-one has signed for it yet...

Yes I should be worried, this means that either RM just 'dump' a large
sack of mail off and don't bother to get a signature or they have
indeed lost it.
Recorded 'signed for' means bugger all in terms of trackability or
compensation, if you ring RM they'll just bung you a £3 book of stamps
potentially costing you ALL your cashback claims possibly amounting to
a few hundred pounds.
Use Special Delivery with added consequential loss insurance for
cashback claims, they HAVE to get a signature and treat it as a next
day priority, it's a fiver a go, but at cashback claims for £60, £70
or £80 a go worthwhile. I always use it for peace of mind and factor
the costs into the original deal to see if it's a worthwhile deal.

Worth remembering that Royal Mail will not class an item as 'lost'
until 3 weeks have officially passed.  Also the max compensation they
will pay out is £32 ...

Although you have paid extra for the 'signed for' bit - there have
been occasions that my local postie has removed the 'signed for'
sticker from my packages & simply pushed them through my door!  So,
the system is not perfect ... especially as the items are not tracked
at any stage and no record is kept of them until they are signed for.

Cheers

Delivery is tracked. You can go to the Royal Mail web site, enter your
code, find the time it was delivered and see the signature on line.
When I have sent cashback claims I usually have used registered mail
(£4 afaik). However, on the last occasion, I used recorded.
Remove 'no_spam_' from email address.

£32 isn't a great compensation, but I expected that any problems were
likely to be with the retailer, rather than the port office :-(

As I've had the same - signed for if there, and delivered without being
signed for if not - I'm keep smiling at the moment and hope that it's
actually been delivered...
