Sony Ericsson K700i latest firmware?

I have just been given a K700i by a friend who has changed phones, and I
would like to upgrade it to the latest firmware. How do I do this? I do
have a DSS25 USB base. What is the best way of doing this and what are the
risks? Can any firmware be installed on the phone, regardless of what
firmware it currently has? Advice please...

download SE's upgrade software and install.

Run the software and follow the instructions.
