Is it possible to send SMS via GPRS with T-mobile?
I have just bought a Blackberry (£30 +£13.50/month for more data than
I will use) and if I use SMS over GSM I will be charged. I have
changed the options to send SMS over GPRS but they fail (as they did
when i had a t68)
Does anyone know if this can be done?
Many thanks
Neil

Why do you assume that sending SMS over GPRS will not still be charged as an
SMS?

AFAIK no UK network currently supports SMS via GPRS.

i've successfully sent a SMS over GPRS on o2 online pay and go, but it takes
3 times as long to send, and yes you do still get charged. I can't see the
point TBH

It may be possible, but SMS is charged on a per-event basis so you will
still get charged 10p or whatever it is.

Thanks for the replies.
Unfortunatly I send a lot of SMS (as well as emails) and was hoping to
get them cheaper! I know you can buy in bulk but at 10p a shot (or
even 5p) it can work out expensive especially as I have unused data
bandwidth. If only everyone had a blackberry which, BTW, is a
fantastic device if you want emails on the move.
Thanks again
Neil
