HELP: Looking for 3G Laptop Card and Decent U/L contract

I've just found out that during December I will be working in an
environment where I will have to use a 3G PCMCIA card in my laptop to
access broadband internet.

I'm prepared to bite the bullet and buy a year's contract if I have no
other choice, but what I need is an unlimited deal.   I've looked at
T-Mobile and Vodaphone, but it seems 3G is still very expensive and,
although some companies advertise an 'unlimited' service, the best
I've seen are subject to a 3Gb or a 10Gb monthly 'fair use' limit.

Anyone got any ideas please?  Any good deals out there.  I need card +
service.

If the T-mobile £20.00 a month deal (12 month contract) isn't any good I
don't know what else to recommend.

Just check coverage as it is not as robust as Vodafone.

Is this current?  I can't find anything less than £29.99/month.

They do seem to have changed it - by adding the £10.00 per month HOTSPOT
access.  This would actually be quite useful to me but doesn't help you.
This is online of course - not sure if stores can do the old tariff.

I just ordered online T-Mobile 3G Card (with 2gb monthly limit) for
£19.99 / month using this link

http://tinylink.com/?Lukd3FJqoJ

There are two options, one showing a free card with an 18 month
contract and another showing £58.75 for the card with a 12 month
contract.  But when you click on the 12-month contract it doesn't
actually charge you the £58.75 for the card.  Strange but true.  It
took me though the whole thing and let me complete the order on a
12-month contract without having to pay for the card.

Fingers crossed that it all goes through.  I will let you know.

It worked!  The contract has been accepted and they say the card will
be with me tomorrow.

Thanks Travec. I ordered it too. Can you tell me if MSN messenger is
blocked on this "proffessional" plan?

thanks again.

Similarly Skype... The plan looks perfect for me, except that I use
Skype messaging and calls a couple of times a week. The terms seem to
suggest that you can use the services but they "might" terminate the
contract if they catch you.

If they block Skype then obviously it's a non starter, but if they only
terminate the contract if you're taking the piss then it might be ok.

So, can anyone confirm that MSN messenger IS blocked on the web and
Walk Proffessional plan (I'm not interested in the PLUS or MAX plans OR
skype!)

thanks.

According to T Mobile, MSM is banned on W&W but OK on W&W+

Of course, that just refers to mobile phone use.

But for this question, wouldnt it be easier to ask them direct?

Well in fact I'll answer my own question. Yes it does work. Obviously
they may limit me somehow in the future but for now its all good. 12
month deal at 20pm with 73 back through quidco. many thanks to Travec.

As a Quidco virgin (not yet registered), can I ask how you got to the
deal to be sure of getting your 73 quid back?

The earlier link gets me there no problem, but I can't find my way to
the "web 'n' walk professional" page by navigating to the T-mobile site
from the Quidco site. I assume that if I just follow the posted link,
that won't work.

use the link that Quidco tell you to use. Then after the t-mobile page
loads, change the end of the url to that listed here by Travec. Once
you have checked out via t-mobile the purchase should track in Quidco.
Sometimes takes a day to show in Quidco. It worked this way for me and
I see the 73 listed as tracked in my earnings page of quidco. fyi,
usually takes another month to get the money from quidco.

Got it; use the /quidco&36... bit I get when I go there from Quidco in
place of the /cheaphonedeals&P36... bit in Travec's link. That wasn't
too painful when I finally sorted it out :-)

Cheers
