If I txt someone while they are abroad do I pay more for it or do they? We
are both on the 3 network.

Thanks

Pete

Thanks. So the according to the table; the person sending the txt pays the
normal rate but the person recieving the txt in another country pays an
extra 30p. Surely that can't be right? What if people keep sending you txtxs
while you are abroad that you are not interested in, it's not your fault.
What if the network sales dept. keep spamming you while you are abroad?

Then turn off texting or keep your phone off.

It's not fair to charge the sender extra as they may not know the target
phone is not in the same country. At the end of the day it's up to you
to control your phone.

I think texts are normal rate and don't have extra charges like phonecalls
do.

If you send a text message to a UK phone (whether it's roaming abroad or in
UK), you just pay the normal price per text (or it comes out of your free
allowance). There is normally no charge for receiving text abroad. So, in
short, being abroad doesn't make any difference. But if you are abroad and
roaming, any text you send, either to a UK phone (in UK or anywhere else,
even in the same country) or any other phone, will be charged at a higher
price, typically 30-50p. Roaming charges are listed on service provider's
website.

If you both on the UK 3 network then you pay same rate as if he was in the
UK. There is no charge for incoming texts while abroad. Calls would be
charge as if he was in the UK as well but there is a charge for incoming
calls while abroad.
