Are off-peak geographic data calls to ISPs (e.g Claranet 020xxxxx etc)
still inclusive on this tariff, please?

I just downloaded the PDF brochure from T-Mobile's web site. It appears
to have been updated to have correct pricing as as July 2003.

The relevant paragraph in the Terms and Conditions says:

Your inclusive minutes and text allowance (shown
on your bill as Œinclusive minutes¹ or Œallowance¹) is
the number of inclusive minutes and text messages
included in your monthly plan. Your inclusive
minutes allowance includes voice, fax, data calls but
excludes WAP (over GPRS) and calls made whilst
abroad. Your text message allowance includes text
messages sent to any UK mobile operators¹
customers, including via Group Text, but excludes
all other text message options and text messages
sent whilst abroad.

So briefly, the answer is yes, data calls to geographic numbers ARE
included.

I think so. They were in August, anyway. I've not used it for that
since then.

Yes but when I tried last using that combination (in cornwall with a Siemens
C35 if it makes a difference) claranet obviously didn't like me very much
because I couldn't get on.

In the end I had to use 08x at a cost of 10ppm.

Do you have a full ClaraNet account, or just the free trial?

As na aside, i looked at Clara fro wires-only ADSL, they were a tad on the
expensive side.

I switched to Freeserve Broadband when I moved at the end of August, and
their service hasn't been too bad, quite reliable on the whole and similar
specs to the Clara ADSL but at 1/3 off their price with discount.

Free trail i'm afraid.
I'd happily pay £1 a year or something (about 100 times more than they'd get
out of the 0845 revenue) but appreciate why it may not make good business
sense to offer it free.

Be nice if plusnet would offer a geographic number considering I pay them
loads of money for adsl and can't use it when i'm in a tent (hint hint) but
they say they can't.

I thought that free trial users could still use real numbers, though
it makes no sense for Claranet!

The cheapest account they do is the Claranews at £30 per year, I
think.

They do a £10 per year which is says is for BT broadband users but which
can be used for other things. I use it all the time for mobile dialup on
T-mobile FT750 via 01/02 numbers and have had no problems.

See:

You are quite right! I'd forgotten about that one - I suspected it was
no longer available, but it looks as if it is still there.

No binary newsgroups, but apart from that, it looks like a good deal.

They were as of about 10 minutes ago when my Communicator last dialled up to
check my mail :-)

They have been for the 16 months I've been with them.
