Hi all

I want to buy one of these phones off play.com for £80 but they say
its on a vodafone network.
I just want to bung my virgin simcard into it and way I go.
Will it be locked and if so can it be unlocked easily?
Thanks

I got one of these on vodafone and it was vodafone live!
nightmare branding and own mp3 ringtone barring.
I got mine unlocked for a tenner at a market stall in Hull City Centre
next to victoria square.
Unlockers are everywhere not sure about debranding though.

I brought mine from Carphone Warehouse on PAYG and it was unlocked already!

They can be unlocked and debranded quite easily.  If you want to do it at
home you'll need to use something like DaVinci, or get someone with Cruiser
of UFS+HWK to do the job.

It's possible to get your phone unlocked by contacted Vodafone Customer
Services. You'll just need to provide the following information:

- Make and model of handset
- IMEI number (you can find this by entering * # 0 6 # and pressing
send)
- Address including post code

Vodafone then contact the manufacturer to obtain the NUC code. If the
handset is under twelve months old then there would be a charge of
£19.99 to unlock the handset which is either debited from the account
(if contract) or needs to be applied onto the handset as calling credit
(if pay as you talk). If your handset is over twelve months old then
you can get an NUC code free of charge.

You can contact Customer Services by either calling 191, or going to
www.vodafone.co.uk, selecting 'contact us' then 'email'.
