Just finished my current job, so they'll have the phone back they've
paid the bills for the last few years.
SWMBO has an O2 PAYG mobile. For about £18 per month, she gets 100 any
network minutes, and 50 texts. I have an O2 PAYG mobile, but don't use
any bolt-ons, since my personal mobile calls are pretty low.
Now, what I'd like is a plan that gives me 2 phones, with texts and
minutes included, shared between both phones. Price, preferably under
£50 per month.
I'd like around 250 - 500 minutes any network calls per month, the 50
texts seem to be plenty.
I'd like to port at least one of the phone numbers across. Mine
doesn't matter, but hers is a particularly easy to remember number.
Oh, and I'd like my phone to include a useful PDA, since my ancient
Palm Pilot has just handed in its lunch pail, and her phone needs to
be foldable or a flip phone, so she doesn't ring people up from her
handbag.
Any suggestions, please?

To answer your subject, you aren't the only one who wants a personal
account like this, with several phones sharing the minutes. It is
what I'm used to from the USA where you can generally add another
phone to any plan for about $10/month. Unfortunately I've not noticed any
of the UK mobile phone companies offering this for personal accounts,
and judging from your lack of response no one else seems to have either.
Oh well.

You used to be able to do this with T-Mobile, but admit I haven't been
on a contract for years as mobile phones are a waste of money.

Orange used to be able to provide this, (can't remember what it was
called). Don't know nowadays though.

It was called "Talkshare" and is this type of arrangement is now only
available to business customers. The consumer version was dropped in
favour of the current "Your Group" offering which allows each user to
have a standalone tariff whilst enjoying totally free calls between
group members.
