I have a real basic question.

What is 3G and what is the benefit of it?

I have an O2 pre - pay mobile. Can the 3G network be added to my phone?

A new type of mobile network technology.

In technical terms, much greater bandwidth. In customer benefit terms it
gives you the ability to make and receive live person to person video
calls, and it makes internet access very fast indeed.

Your device has to be a 3G device, you cannot simply add 3G to a non-3G
device.
