As per the subject really, can they take standard (SD) memory cards, or only
Sony Memory Sticks?
It sounds like a good phone, but I have a pile of quite large SD cards, and
really want a phone I can use them in, rather than having to shell out for
yet another memory card format...

There is no standard menory card. It might be soon, but not yet.

SE K800/810 only takes Memory Stick Micro, also refered to as M2.
