Steve Terry reminds me of a well-known line here in USA about cheap friends:
"Friends like you come a dime a dozen".

I have a feeling that T-Mobile a) hated the contract and probably you in the
first place (don't take it persoanally i'm included as well) and b) would
feel something along the lines of 'finally' and 'good ridance' if you
threaten to leave unless they give you a say 3410 for 9.99 and free 12
months rental.
The fwd cellular deal seems the best and what I will go for, you can get a
3510i for £59 or sim for 9.99 with them so its not bad in any way, we were
just very very lucky with the cpw deal (not to mention the fact they pay
their affiliates £10 comission so some people could get it free, well infact
make 1p on the deal).

i got the 3510i for 59.99 from Forward Cellular, paid 12 months up front and
received 12 months cashback. sold the handset for £80 on eBay and now have
750 mins & 50 texts a month plus i'm £20 up.
seems better than paying £9.99 for the sim only.
reception is cack in my house though but so is orange and o2 :(
