Have just bought a PAYG Nokia 2310.
My question is when you add a contact number and name do you add the
+44 to all numbers dropping the 0 at the beginning. What is happening
is that when I receive a text or missed call only the number comes up
and not the name.
If a contact is entered say 0123456789 only the number comes up but
with the +44 added in the contacts both the name and number seem to
come up. If you are now thinking I have answered my own question I am
only guessing that this is the reason and would appreciate a
knowledgable reply.

Recommended if you travel abroad, then you can call from anywhere in the
world.

It is normally only the last 8(? might be a couple more) digits that it
compares in order to lookup the name, so the +44 or 0 shouldn't make any
difference.
What WILL confuse it though is having the same number in more than one
contact,
eg; Having your home number under 'Home' and under (say) your partners
name...
