Our company travels a lot around Europe and we're currently looking at
options for wireless broadband, none of which are so good as to make us go
"yup, that's the one".
The Vodafone £25 a month for unlimited looks good for the UK but it's always
roaming that kills it. It says on their website:
£8.50 per 24 hours in selected countries
£4.25 per MB after this
How's the £4.25 per MB bit work? Is there a limit on that £8.50 per day part
after which you pay the £4.25. We use Citrix as our remote solution and this
eats up ~2MB/hour so @ £4.25/MB, we could quickly run up some large bills.
So large, that it's better to go and find a wireless hotspot.
Cheers, Rob.

Perhaps "per 24 hrs" is not "per day"? It could be accumulated time -
which would be a disaster for you :-(
I wonder if nipping over the border (by provider selection, not
physically) for a few minutes would reset the count? ;-)

It's £8.50 per day plus vat, so £9.99 for 50mb then £4.25 per
meg after that, so £5 once vat is added.

That still doesn't seem to make sense ... and vastly more expensive at
£8.50 for 50 millibits :-)

It's explain better elsewhere on the site. The £8.50 per day is for certain
countries. The £4.25 per MB is for countries outside of this. That isn't too
bad for our European travellers as they will only probably want to use it
for a couple of hours on Citrix which will use about 10MB.
What we need to ascertain now is whether they have a data tariff like that
for a 3G mobile phone. The idea would be that their phone is always on
wireless and would be occasionally used to connect via Bluetooth to their
laptop as a 3G modem.
Cheers, Rob.
