I know it's Valentines day and I should expect problems, but shouldn't
mobile phone companies expect the same?

Vodafone... can't send messages or calls, but can receive? Customer
services - "we are busier than usual..."

Receiving same txts msgs from people every 10minutes for last two hours?

Hi Clive,

Sorry you were having problems with your services yesterday. We did
have a network fault with SMS that was affecting around 50% of
customers sending SMS and also SMS that were sent were being
duplicated. This was fixed around 4pm and should now be working for
all customers.

If you are still having problems please let us know and we can take a
look into it for you.

I hope this clears up your query, I understand it's frustrating when
the network goes down and you can't get the most out of your handset.
