If you think that's bad, you should try ringing Dell's tech support.

Too true. Dell's manual for tech support people has only two instructions.
1 - reformat your hard drive
2 - reinstall Windows

Here we go OT again ;-)

I ordered a Dell PC on Monday, had a call from the couriers today saying
it would be delivered next Monday, so will see if it's on time or not <g>

Which couriers are Dell using for you?

Somebody called Walsh Western, never heard of them but there is a link
from the email Dell sent me to an online tracking page, and it says there
also delivery date is the 27th.

As I said, we'll soon see ;-)

They're a bit dodgy, from my experience when they delivered my Dell Axim
PDA, I think they are some sort of affiliate to Lynx.

Still, the goods arrived OK.

You're relatively lucky, I remember reading about a guy whose new Dell
monitor was left on the street/in his front garden by the company delivering
it.

Heh, they left my *complete* new Dell system (over 2 grands worth) at the
back of my house, next to a public footpath. I complained to Dell, they said
they'd look into it, and that was that :/

So order another one & when they dump it behind the house, ring them and
tell them it hasn't arrived.  I bet they'll look into it pretty quickly
then.
