Virgin Pay & Go Phones Locked?

Apologies if this has been posted before- if I buy an off-the-shelf virgin
pay and go mobile (motorola c350 at £70), will it be locked to virgin or
should i be able to put a different sim card in?

They're locked but you can ask Virgin for the code after you top it up
with £30 (if you get any vouchers thrown in with the phone, they can count).

It will be locked to Virgin, but Virgin will give you the unlock code
as soon as you have bought £30 of call credit.
