Argos have a Sagem my220X with a virgin SIM. There's no branding on the box
or on the phone. Is it likely to be locked - or is there any way I can find
out? (Want to use it to take abroad and I haven't got any spare SIMS and as
we go on Sunday, no time to get any)

You must know somebody with a mobile phone that is not on Virgin?

Yes, me, partner and daughter - but we're all on three and three SIMs won't
work

Not aware of a way of finding out if it's locked without sticking a SIM into
it.
Have you actually bought the phone? The only way I know is to ask a
friend/work collegue that has a phone that isn't Virgin (or 3) if you can
borrow their SIM and try see if it works...

What did the person at Argos say when you asked them?
