I have a Genie PAYG sim, it's been a long time since I used it but I thought
that I originally had 300 mins WAP and then they changed it to 1MB gprs. Of
course 1MB gprs is nowhere near as good as 300 mins WAP.
What do you get for your tenner a month?

If i remember correctly, the original genie contracts for just £10 had
unlimited text and unlimited wap service.
These come out before the days of GPRS, hence thats why its not included.
Seeing as GPRS and other WAP providers charge like 10p a minute, yes i can
see why its important the genie wap is working!

I wonder if they’ve switched the old genie sort code off, it might be
a temporary problem, I don’t know.
Have you tried the direct GSM dial-up number for wap +447712927927 in
place of 915000.
Should be charged the same, but not completely sure so be careful,
test first then check bill.
Sadly there is very little left, of what was Genie these days,
officially it doesn’t exist anymore, though I have a jacket with the
genie logo on it : - ) which I was sent, plus an old email address,
which still works thanks to us & for the many others still out there.
I’ve had dealing with them in the past, or what’s left of it now, more
involved on the internet portal side, Genie email, dial-up etc. If it
involves Genie I’m the man, esp. if you have a U.Genie email account/
problem as I can get them looked into, having access to internal
technical contacts. Support which I offer is now the only way as o2
don't support U.Genie email. (Sorry contacts can’t be made public or
given out in anyway for obvious reasons). And no I’ve never worked for
them or o2.
For those that can remember it, I’ve uploaded the old Genie logo here
to see: http://www.u.genie.btinternet.co.uk/genielogo.gif
