Over the years I've had many phones from Three and always phoned in the
cancellation and never found a problem.
Just about to cancel an 18 month contract with T Mobile does anything think
I should confirm that in writing?

Definitely. You should put anything like that in writing. I wouldn't
trust any reassurances I get from any company's call centre where the
conversation is of any significance. You may never have had a problem,
but it's on the odd occasion that you do have a problem when you'll be
grateful you've got the paperwork. I always fax such letters, using an
old fashioned fax machine - cheaper than second-class post,
instantaneous, and you get a delivery report which can be used in
evidence if needed!

You are right and I will do as you have suggested.
Thanks
