Chapie - 21 Jun 2008 14:16 GMT It looks like Orange are now giving their PAYG customers the childish touch.... In which case, I want the 'Little Fluffy Mouse' tarriff please!!!
What sort of TW*T thought this childish idea up?
I think time has come to move away from Orange and take my phone service with someone who doesn't use childish names for their tarriffs.
Over the hill - 21 Jun 2008 14:26 GMT Must be the same twat that called some channels Dave on tv.

In which case, I want the 'Little Fluffy Mouse' tarriff [quoted text clipped - 5 lines] > with someone who doesn't use childish names > for their tarriffs. Orange set up a dept to spent over a million quid and take over a year to develop animal tariffs.
After losing millions of contract customers with it, the execs responsible are now determined to make it work on PAYT. They have to, their reason to exist and collect enormous pay packets depends on it.
I suspect one of them as a student glanced at a copy of Sigmund Freuds totems and taboos, but didn't get as far as to read about how animal totems are infantile
So what will happen is they'll lose a few million more PAYT customers, to networks like 3 with their very simple to understand flat 12, before they finally get the boot.
Which all goes to show just out of touch with reality FT Orange execs have got since Snook left

He was certainly egalitarian, personal customers got as much as business customers, and he was big on adding innovative services. Not no more, e.g. only Business now get free 0800. and Wildfire, Everyphone, Line2, etc etc. all gone
So FT Orange took his philosophy which made Orange great, passed mostly by word of mouth, and flushed it down the toilet where no amount of infantile advertising will save it.
A good measure of which is the Orange list, at it's peak around 2002 about a thousand postings month by dozens of knowledgeable Orange enthusiasts were posted, i checked this month and only one post has been made for June
Orange was the only mobile phone network to have such a list, more expertise Orange could have accessed, flushed down the sh.tter

I'm with 3 now, and the amount of gadgets and services they've got is boggling!

Cameras where invented to take pictures with and a computer is used for accessing the Internet NOT a bloody telephone for Gods sake.

Not for me. I want my phone to do lots of things so that I only need carry one thing around with me that does everything. There have been many times when I've been out walking that I have taken lots of pictures and then enhanced them on the computer later. I only have a 6230i but I use every facility on it except 'push to talk' plus I run java applications. I am just waiting for a phone that will adequately do all I want, that includes wifi and touchscreen, before I get another phone. I am not in favour of locked down systems like the iPhone so I won't be going in that direction but the HTC Diamond is approaching what I want. So, you see, some people might only want to to use a phone just to call people but I want a multifunction device where access to the Net is cheap. The latter condition has some way to go yet.
>Which is what the lost Orange services like line 2 and Everyphone did, >actually improve chances of getting or making a call. Yes, I used Everyphone and was sorry to lose it. It appears that if Orange can't see a direct benefit to themselves they dump it. Services like Everyphone, free 0800 calling, line 2 etc. can reduce churn by gaining customer satisfaction. Only line 2 remains to the ordinary punter. My main complaint, in regard to al the operators, is the compulsion to subscribe to services that you don't want. For example, 'Three' advertise a price and then you find that you have to add 'video calling' to the price even though you don't want the service. Then there are the tariffs that compel you to buy texts when you may not want them. What if your main interest is Net access? It is often the case that you have to buy into more minutes than you want or texts or pay for something else that you don't want. Why not have tariffs with a true mix - Choose how much data you want, how many minutes and how many texts or other services without compulsion to buy into more than you want? If mobile phone companies actually did things to please the customer then they would reduce churn and could then actually increase their profits via a win - win situation.

I could be very wrong, of course. I don't personally know anybody who is on Orange, and positive comments about Orange in this august forum are very few and far between.

Not a chance, No it's simply since Snook left (after created a success), FT Orange UK have developed a pretentious under skilled, over egoed, up there own arse management.
Their customers know it, but up in the rarefied closed atmosphere, of their ivory towers, FT Management don't hear it.
Like most of UK management, the emperor has no clothes.

Not quite... At least you can make a reasonable guess what the (relative) difference between them is. Large broadband is probably faster (and therefore more expensive) than Small broadband. WTF is the difference between Dolphin and Racoon??? Which is the cheapest if I make mostly calls to other mobiles??? No idea at all!! Seems to me it's just a way of confusing customers into choosing the wrong tariff and so spending more money than they needed to.

What the Orange animal tariffs offers in the way of text or calls actually varies with 12, 18, or 24 month contracts, so they aren't even constant!
What insanely expensively developed, infantile crap.

I just have two Orange PAYG phones left to move off Orange...having reviewed the spending over the past two years, I'd be better of on a 3 contract tariff (and get a couple of other major advantages too).

I suspect some third rate commercial psychologist convinced Orange that cuddly wuddly animal symbols would appeal to the unconscious mind of Orange victims (sorry customers)
Probably the same twat that convinced Pizzaland to paint their restaurants puke green Pizzaland? who they? exactly, they've folded up.
A advertising agency friend tells me it's folk law in their industry that the BA ad with Greek urns, where all their passengers are shown as idiots cos they all have a worthless fake Greek urn in their hand luggage, is known as the worst ad in history and is taught as an object lesson on how not to do it.
