Sorry if off topic, if anyone knows of better groups to post this let me
know.

I am off to Italy soon and will be using my Nokia E90 (or maybe laptop with
T-mobile date card/sim) for checking e-mails. Normally I get stung with a
big bill unless I use a free wi-fi and I know that might be available.

I have heard of companies where you can buy sim cards for various countries
but these seem to be for phone calls rather than data download.

Ideal situation is to buy a Italian Sim card with Data package but other
than wait till I get there where from ?

Any advice appreciated.

Dave.

Have a read of:

http://www.prepaidgsm.net/forum/europe/2785-italy-wind-data-offers.html

I imagine WIND SIMs can be bought on ebay, though I can't find any right
now.  There should be no problem at all finding one in Italy.

Theoretically you need a Codice Fiscale (tax number) to buy a prepaid SIM in
Italy, but these are easily obtainable on the web - see:
http://www.prepaidgsm.net/en/italy.html
(also gives all the voice/text rates)
