Can anyone help?
I was bought a Virgin Mobile, Alcatel photo-capable pay-as-you-go mobile
phone for Christmas. My girlfriend didn't realize you cannot send/receive
photos on Virgin. Can I get it unlocked and use my old Orange pay as you go
sim in it to use the multimedia messages? Shall I wait til the spring when
Virgin claim they will launch the capability? What is the best option to
take? Would appreciate any comments

Yes you can but you'll need to have spent £30 on airtime to get the unlock
code from Virgin

If I go to a 'bloke in the market' and not Virgin directly can they do it
for £10 like they advertise or is this not possible?
Also, when it first logs on to Orange will it automatically receive the
required profiles to allow the WAP/MMS functions etc?
Thanks

Yes, as long as they can unlock that specific model.

No, for that, you will need to go to http://setup.orange.co.uk/
