It appears you cannot change your Orange package without losing the square
deal? On o2 it is possible to switch between the tariffs with no problems
that I can see.
Is voicemail free on Orange?
As for the calling card thing, that is useful I am sure, not that I would
ever use it as I have a BT line for landline calls and offpeak is 6p per
hour. 200 minutes a month also seems to do me quite well :-) Considering,
though, that Orange appear to be removing things at a seemingly high rate,
is it likely the free 0800 will last?
But if, like me, you value being able to use some non-geographic and use mms
then o2 is a better deal.
Unless I am missing something, the only thing Orange do better are the free
0800, but perhaps they have lower call costs once the minutes run out? Or
international is better value?

Free Orange 24/7 CS is probably the biggest difference / advantage,
over O2 onlines non existent and expensive CS.
Also you can get cheap international using a CC on the free 0800,
e.g. US for 3p per min

Thanks guys, ok I've had a look on the O2 website and they have as cr*p a
selection of phones as Orange do. Is their website used to knock out all the
phones they can't sell on the high street. Can i get the same Tarrif in an
O2 store as i can online ?
This is the eternal problem i have had with Orange; they have all the new
phones at great prices in the high street store (I'm looking for a good
bluetooth but not X70 or 6310i) but they will not do you the same square
deal as you can get online.
Conversely, i can get the online square deal of choice but the phone choice
is shocking.

Perhaps that's part of the cost saving to be able to offer what they do? Not
that I think they are really giving as good an offer as they imply.
I mean, doesn't a text only cost them 1p? How much does cross-net cost them?
What has been said is true with regards to cust. service. Orange is no doubt
cheaper and faster but if all is going well you may never need it. I am
trying to show there are advantages to both provider, and I have had good
use of the o2 offering.
Good luck!
