Hi,

A quick question about Orange Just Talk Sim cards...

I have had an Orange Just Talk phone since Jan 2000 and am now thinking of
buying a Samsung A800 on Orange Just Talk (I know it's quite old but it
suits me).

The thing is, I've read on certain retailers' websites that using your old
sim is not recommended as it may damage the phone.  But aren't all Just Talk
sim  cards the same?

Are they just saying this as there is a reduction in price to lure a NEW
customer (with the new sim card).  If this is the case, can the phone be
registered with the NEW sim card when it arrives and then the sim card
replaced with the 4 year old sim card (thus retaining my old number)?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Daz

If you buy a new Orange JT PAYT phone and Sim, Orange will let you register
it as an upgrade giving you 10quid of credit for doing so.
All your existing details will be transferred to the new Sim which should
now be one of the new 32kb types, giving 200 phone mems and 20 text.
So all round worth doing

BTW cheapest Orange PAYT phone is Siemens A55, 30quid from Orange,
or same with a trade in at Orange shops or CPW
10quid more without trade in

Thanks!  I'll stick with the A800 (I've got my heart set on it now) - can I
order it from ANYWHERE as if I were a new customer and then mention the
'upgrade' bit when I phone up to register?
