Cheers, Steve.

Wanted ads should be posted on  uk.adverts.telecom.mobile
This is a non ads NG

But he's not posted a wanted ad!!

I read his request as where can he buy a sim-free V600 for the cheapest
price...by Friday....Surely that type of request is OK??

Which bit of his subject line "SimFree Motorola V600 Wanted"
don't you understand ?

Although in usenet parlance it should of read  "WTD: SimFree Motorola V600"

So Steve, are you saying that any posting that mentions the word "wanted"
should be in an adverts group?

Sorry, but I disagree! If the OP was trying to source a second-hand phone
from group members then fine, that should be and as you rightly point out,
the subject line should be prefixed by WTD:

However, this is a UK mobiles newsgroup and if the OP was indeed trying to
find out the cheapest place to purchase a phone retail, then surely this is
the place to ask.

I see more and more, loads of net- nanny type of posts these days, from the
ubiquitous top posting to no ads here ones and frankly, there seem to be
more of these than actual spam!

I saw one thread where a poster had posted an ad, had it pointed out that
no ads were allowed and subsequently apologised. There then followed a
further 10 posts berating him for posting followed by a couple more
apologies...go figure!

Try reading the groups charter, I know it's difficult for the hard of thinking

Also, is this a bit of hypocrisy on your part??

I notice another thread in this group titled "Got one, but - Re: Has anyone
within a reasonable distance of Slough/Windsor got a (cheap) mobile phone
to sell?" where you have given at least two answers...none of which are
directing the user to vacate this group for the ads group.

Hmmm...seems you only enter net-nanny mode when it suits you.
