I'm an existing Orange contract holder and Last friday ordered a new
contract phone with new contract.  Was told 5- 7 days. No credit card was
involved as everthing was going to be added to my cuurrent account which is
paid by DD.
1 week later it has not yet arrived.

Rand OCS today and was told it would be with me today (no!) or next  Tuesday
at the latest.

Now my question is Tuesday is June 1st when the new 6month lock in period
starts.   Does my contract start on Tuesday when I assume I will need to
register the phone or last friday when I ordered it ?

Do you think I will still be able to down grade after 3 month, come to think
of it have Orange already broken their contract with me ?

Any Ideas ?

Your contract will start when you register it.

A cynic might think this was a deliberate delay.

Indeed a cynic might, but it's always been the case. The fact that there
is some significance between the end of this month and the start of next
as of no interest to orange direct sales - they are far too busy trying
to keep up (unsuccessfully) with all the orders they are taking.

I think it's time to start allowing the Square Deals in the shop...

They do.  I connected quite a few square deals in the Nottingham branch
I worked at, as did numerous other colleagues.

I've never bothered until now as there's sod all margin in it, but the
momentum seems to be building up and the margin isn't a total disaster
now. Double-take is really bringing them in aswell.

It took me 55 minutes to get through to 980 on Saturday. Bloke I got
said he had 57 calls in his queue! The new deals are being well received
it would seem.
