I live in the NY/NJ area and am on the AC plan with unlimited n&w.
There is a chance I might have to move to the Atlanta area. There are
some benefits of being in the NY/NJ market, most notably no extra
charge for calls to Canada. I was wondering if I keep the same NJ
phone # and move to Atlanta, can I enjoy the same benefits that I get
here? Bottomline: how does VW determine what market you are in? I can
think of 3 factors that are used to determine the market but there
could be others:
1. your phone #
2. area you signed up for service initially
3. your billing address
Babolat,
The determination is normally made by your BILLING address. That is what is
mentioned in the Terms of Service. There have been users here who kept
their old plan, old phone number and were able to change the billing
address.
Since you're moving to a Verizon market, it isn't that big a deal to them.
If you want to keep from communicating with them about your move entirely,
you can just read and/or pay your bill online. The only
advantage/disadvantage is where you want your phone number.

Like me, when I moved, since I needed to hold on to my AC 440 numbers
after leaving Cleveland.
I did an E-Z Move to get numbers local to my area when I knew I wouldn't
need the old numbers anymore.

Has anyone changed an address, to another state, but keeping the same
number(like the original post) is the service taxed on the new address
or does it remain with the old address--there can be a fair difference
between states.

I'll tell you when I get my final Ohio bill.

One of my cell phone has a Phoenix number, but is billed to me at my Las
Vegas address. All bills for that phone have reflected taxes and surcharges
for Phoenix.
