I've been spending a bit more time out in malibu lately where cell
coverage isn't that hot. However, this phone will toggle back and forth
between analog constantly. The digital will show 2-3 bars and the analog
4.. problem is even tho analog as 4 bars I can't get a call to go out.
At 2 bars of digital I can make calls no problem (reciever in the field
screen shows ~100db)

I bought the phone back in feb03.. do any of the newer software updates
released since then address the analog/digital toggling - ie make it not
as sensitive to want to
switch?

In the short term I've just been setting the phone to force mode-> cdma.

thanks

The newer SW addresses this problem.

Refer to a post titled "LG 4400 Software and Hardware changes" on this newsgroup.

Try updating your software version on your phone at the VZW store.
Version te4vzv08 is out (well atleast in my area).  It fixed my problem
with the phone droping me to an analog signal.

Can anyone else confirm this? I thought 06 firmware was the latest.

This problem does exist with the 06 firmware. This is the first I've heard
of an 08 update.
