I want to load ringtones into my 8300. I have a cable and have
installed Bitpim (three times) but can't get the info into the phone.
The icon to indicate loading into the phone remains grayed out. I can
download from the phone but not back. Any ideas.
Thanks

Sorry, I can't help, but I have the same phone and I was wondering where
you got the USB cord. My previous phone, AudioVox 8900 did not work with
bitpim so I have been looking forward to using it with this phone.
Thanks,

I got the cable on eBay from:

usbdatacables@comcast.net
$20.00. Very nice quality, great service.

(sorry, I meant to post this to the group, not e-mail
you directly)
Hi,
Thanks for the info. The seller has a lot of good feedback.
Do you think there's a possibility the cable has something
to do with your problem?
Has anyone else bought and used a USB cable from this place?
I just notice that the Verizon Essential Music Kit is not
being sold for $19.99 and comes with their USB cable and a
set of headphones (and drivers). I think I may just go that route.

see:

Testing done with USB cables and Bluetooth. This phone also has Bluetooth (BT).
It is possible to use this to connect to BitPim. Bluetooth is a slow way to
communicate with the phone, using the USB cable is faster. It also runs down the
battery, turning it off after use will preserve battery power.
Hope that helps,

I ended up getting the Verizon music kit. They lowered the price
from about $30 to $20, and it came with a set of headphones and
software. Seemed like an ok deal .. haven't used anything but the
USB cable so far.

Hi
I actually found a cable with software from a site called dwoodsz.com
.
So far I have not been able to get it to work.
CD Has a lot of stuff on it but none I can figure out in the way of
instructions. Newer version of bitpim too...cable allows the phone to
be recognized as a modem, which is one use--not the one I am looking
for on this machine however--but the bitpim just will not deal with
the unit.
Can you tell me the software that came on the VZ CD?
Thanks
