How can I make a data call off the vzn network. I am currently using the
vzn software and attempt calling thru my serial port when on the vzn
extended network either analog or digital. I keep getting error messages as"
failure to make data call, service not available". Do I need a cellular
modem or what?

most likey data will not work on the extended network, when I was on
extended network in Indiana, the provider was US Cellular, I was not able to
use my 1xMOU, or QNC, howerver when I was on Alltel about 4 months ago, I
was able to use qnc, and was quite supprised that worked... but generally,
if you are on extended network, none of the data services are going to work.
