Greetings,

My brother is giving me his Treo 600 and I want to use that with my current
plan instead of my LG VX1. Currently I am going month to month on an old
local plan. I want to stay that way and don't want to sign a new contract.

Can I simply login to my online Verizon account and add the ESN number from
the Treo 600 or will I have to sign a new agreement that includes some sort
of data plan?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have done it many times.  If it does not allow for some reason then
call Customer Service to complain and they will help activate (usually
without charging you for it).  I found that activating a phone with
fewer 'features' is something where I needed their help.

I would do it online it should be easy.  Put esn in and just *22890,
but if you call customer service they may charge you a esn swap fee and
upsell you on data.  Be careful i fyou dont get data not to touch the
internet button it will hurt you baaddd...

Hi,
I read your post about activaing  the Treo 600. I am trying to do the
same thing but the web site asks for an order number and location code.
I do not have one as I purchased the phone on ebay. did I go to the
wrong page at Verizion? Thank you.
Jim
