Just got a new LG VX3450. Reading through the manual, I got to the page
where it "explains" the icons on the display. There is one icon looks like
"1x") which the manual says means IS-2000. OK. What the manual doesn't say
is WTF IS-2000 means?

In plain English it means "digital signal".

More specifically, it means CDMA digital signal; CDMA is the communications
protocol used by VZW.

It's all fun and games until someone starts a bonfire in the living room.
