It is my understanding that Verizon service, by way of all of the phones
offered, will not allow you to use mp3's as ringtones. Even with the A990
which the spec sheet stipulates uses wma's as ringtones......the A990
through Verizon will not allow you to put a wma on, either the micro sd card
or internal memory, and then use it for a ringtone.
Is there a way around this?
Thank you,

I used that same technique for doing tones on my 6100.

I have a Mototola e815... and I've been making ringtones out of mp3's
(and midi's) for a while now.
True, you can't just use them, or transfer them from a memory card...
but it's a relatively simple procedure to workaround the limitations.
I've sent a few to different Samsung phones... but there are a different
set of workarounds for that brand. It involves saving the file in one
format, and renaming the file to another format, with a different 3
letter extension.
