Mail Progarm/Server When Using DUN?

What are you using for e-mail? My ISP is Comcast...I can't connect to
their mail server when I connect to the internet using Verizon via my
cell phone & PDA.

I use the comcast mail servers when tethered to both a laptop and PDA (and
earthlink)... The mail servers require authentication... From looking at my
notes the comcast one has to be the master account (not ones you create),
and the earthlink requires the @earthlink.net added after the user name...

Also have mobile web, and had to do the same to get it to work from the
email menu...

i use outlook and my ISP is earthlink. in order to send e-mail when
i'm not connected to an earthlink node (like when i use a wi-fi signal
like i am tonight or when i use my verizon cellphone) i need to use an
authenticated mail server. i have a google e-mail account and they
provide an autenticated server that i use to send e-mail. comcast may
have the same requirement. you should be able to connect to comcast's
webmail page using your browser to send mail. not as convenient as a
mail client but it works.

Just out of curiosity, why don't you just use earthlinks authenticated mail
server? That's what I am using (I'm using outlook on wifi at the moment),
and have been using for years...
The only time I ran into a problem was using earthlinks NEWS servers (they
required you be on earthink), but not the mail servers... In support they
give step by step instructions on how to set it up with different types of
software..

Just set any/all POP email accounts to require authentication. If they don't
require it and you are configured this way it will work anyway. If they do
require it is will also work. Just do it! LOL.

I always configure mine that way whether I know for sure or not. Things have
changed a lot on this since the olden days. I think basically all of them
require it now... unless you are connected truly directly. And even then a
lot do.
