This is the second time I've had this happen. After charging overnight, I
turn on my e815 and it won't make or receive calls.
Current network reads "32768" instead of "22" as it should.
If I switch the mode from "Automatic B" to "Home Only", the current network
displays properly (22) and the phone works.
Switch it back to "Automatic B" and it fouls up again.
Last time this happened, TechSupport finally came up with the Master Reset,
so this time, after fooling with it all day, I gave up and reset the phone.
Of course, I lost a bunch of settings which were a PITA to remember and
reset, but at least the phone's "fixed".
Has anyone seen this----is it a known problem?
Thanks.

By the way, I forgot to say that among other things I tried, I gave up and
did *228, option 2---------made no difference.

I don't think it's all the phone. I am about at as much as I can take of VZW
crap and as soon as I can will give up on them. I have had so many phones
from them because every time you call them and tell them about a problem
it's always the same answer "it must be YOUR phone". I have humored them and
always asked well "what do YOU recommend?" I have dutifully bought nearly
every phone (at full retail sometimes) and continue to have grief. BTW I
have 3 815's (again bought at VZW recommendations), and a V60s. I have also
had numerous Nokias and LG too. Meanwhile this past summer I got a Cingular
Razr for a vacation to Europe. Than in the end to give to oldest kid
(because calls to Europe with Cing are nearly as cheap or in many cases
cheaper than Vonage), and other than the ergonomics (which the kid hates) it
works nearly flawlessly and worked perdfectly overseas too. Never missed a
call or dropped the whole time. With VZW I cannot hold a call over 5 min.
It's like they have a timer on the phone. OK 5 min. time to cut the call.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for what I wrote about Cingular but the results
speak for themselves. Oh and BTW when I walk out of the Cing store I don't
fell like I need a shower like I do in the VZW store. I have NEVER had such
rude and unknowledgable people as I do in the VZW store (company store btw).
