For what you need the Moto v325 is the phone for you.

My take on this is that the chocolate is a music player that is also phone
and the vx8300 (which I own) is a phone that is also music player.

Either one is does more than you need.

I can only say that the wife has an 8300, and even though I've never been an
LG fan, I am pleasantly surprised at the reception and stability of the
8300. I have an e815, and though the reception is slightly better, the
glitches and software/firmware issues leave me kind of mad at Moto.

I would probably accept an 8300 in place of my e815, and that's saying a
lot.

Can't say anything of value about the Chocolate, other than the sliding form
factor, which I don't care for.

the chocolate is a fine phone.  The only real complaint I had was that
it didn't have speakerphone capability.  That was corrected with the
last software update.

It *is* annoying how sensitive the sensor touch buttons are on the
face.  They can easily be triggered when holding the phone up to your
ear (that's even with changing the sensitivity).

I have the LG VX8300 and I am very happy with it. Good reception and
good battery life once the extras are turned off.

Looks great too :-)
