I have always noticed that the IP address assigned to my VZW Wireless
Internet connection has always different for each session. I use the PC Card
5220.

Since about ten days ago, I have noticed that now the IP address stays the
same irrespective of the number of sessions - in fact my assigned IP has
changed only once during this period. First time it happened in almost two
years.

Probably mean nothing - but I was just curious. Has anybody else noticed
this?

One can check on their IP address easily (on a Windows PC, AFAIK) by opening
VZ AccessManager and clicking on the Usage tab. It should be the 4th column.

Regards and thanks for any insights.

Live long and prosper. Damn the Vulcans for stealing our line.

So you have gone from non-persistent DHCP-assigned address to persistent
- luck of the draw, or a new algorithm for VZW DHCP servers - no big
deal.   Think my Sprint AirCard EVDO connection is still non-persistent
(but don't use it that often).  Just don't count on it if you want to
try doing any little web-server exercises from that connection (besides
not safe, it will violate the TOS).

BTW, one can also see any IP info for all interfaces (on Windoze) from
command line with "ipconfig" or "ipconfig /all" - try it for a peek
under the hood  ;-}
