Hi guys, ok... I had the VX 4400 for a while when it first released,
and DID like the phone... however, I DID exchange it for another phone
because I just didn't like the ring tones.  Well, needless to say, I'm
back on the 4400 again, and it's really a great phone, in my opinion.
I like the interface, buttons, etc.. and the fact that it works in
Analog.

Question though.... was in palm springs over the weekend at a friend's
house, and overnight we had thunderstorms w/ lightning etc.. the usual
deal... anyway, that was in the wee hours of the morning... later when
I got up and attempted to turn the phone on (i was tired, <grin>)
after I picked it off of the charging cradle, I noticed that when I
hit the power button it would not turn on but rather flash real quick
on the sub-LCD screen.. strange.. so I thought the phone had burnt out
from the storm or something... but then I realized maybe it's normal
because the phone turned on just fine when I realized I had to keep
the power button depressed for a couple seconds and it's been working
fine ever since... but still does that strange flash thing on the
external small LCD screen when you just tap the power button w/ the
phone open of course.. try it and see if it does the same.

Just wondering..... so if the phone was gonna have a problem during
the storm, would it NOT be working now?  Should it be fine?

Thanks...... well, obviously I don't know much about electronics and
how they react when there's a power spike or something to that
effect... neither do I know if there really was any power problem
during the storm.... hehe..... just wondering that;'s all.. I'm sure
some of you guys are technical to the point of electronics
schematics,etc... :)

Most phones have a power-on delay like this, so if you accidentally
press the power key when it's on it won't turn off... and vise versa.

Ok, thanks man!

My phone does the same thing:  just a brief lavender flash from the sub-LCD
if you press the power key.  It happens if I press the key briefly,
resulting in no power-up, or hold it on to get a power-up.
