I just went online to check my Verizon Bill for this month - I had been
sending a few international text messages so I wanted to check how much
this was costing me and I noticed something a little strange.
Under my DATA billing I saw the usual local and international texting I
was expecting but I then saw one more, a charge under "PIX-FLIX
Messaging Rcv'd" - I have a Motorola E815 - and received a fancy video
message from Verizon a couple of weeks ago advertising their Chocolate
phone - which according to my bill, they charged me to receive!!
It's only 25c, my wife was charged the same amount on her line also, so
I called verizon. The person who I spoke to sounded kind of fake
surprised and instantly refunded the 50c - but with the millions of
subscribers that Verizon has - how many have received this charge and
unknowingly paid for it? It's fairly well hidden in the bill and is
small enough for people not to notice. Verizon could be secretly
collecting millions of dollars from their subscribers to help pay for
their own advertising to them.
Anyone else received the same billing?
