New phone seems to last only a day with little use. What kind of battery
life should I expect?
Thanks

It depends on how much time your phone spends searching for a tower.  I have
a RAZR on Cingular and it lasts for days depending on how much I talk.  I
have a co-worker who has verizon razr and he purchased an extended battery
to get it to last all day.   He has a little VZ coverage in the office and
leaves his phone on in case it rings he can go outside to catch the call.

Turn off EVDO if you aren't planning on heavy browsing.  If you are in an
EVDO fringe area, it sucks the battery down quickly.  I did this using the
directions on HoFo and went from 1 day to 3 days between charges.

Do you have a specific link, please?

Thanks -- Larry

I don't use my vx8300 a lot, but I am in a fringe EVDO region.

Before I disabled EVDO, the phone would suck up all power within
about 2 or 3 days. Now, I've had the phone without recharging
since Monday (now being Sat eve) and I have only lost one bar
on the battery .. this is quite an amazing change.

I've had the same result on my E815...charged it Sunday night, turned
it on Monday morning, and it hasn't been turned off since. Only lost
one bar with what I'd consider average usage, for me, including BT
being on full-time.
