How do I set up my email program to get this newsgroup when I use my
laptop tethered to my Razr phone?  Does              Verizon have a
server that has newsgroups ?  I currently get this group on my home PC
but I can't access the server from outside.  I use Thunderbird for both
my email and the news servers.

Why can't you access the server from outside?

Anyway, why not use a free server or a web based news server if necessary?

Oh, oh, bad boy!  Better read the fine print.  Webpages and email and your
company's intranet ONLY on Verizon internet.  Everything else is VERBOTEN!

Not much of a deal at $60 a month, is it.  The 5GB limit is for the webpage
spam.

NO STREAMING, either!...even from webpages!  Says so right there in the
fine print, so don't let us catch you playin' KPIG at 128Kbps MP3 or
talkin' on Skype for Mobile to your buddy in Korea, either!....bad boy!

If you don't want binaries, the German server is very good. It costs
around $13/year:

I have the same problem when traveling with my laptop so I use
http://www.teranews.com.  There is a one time $3.95 set up fee and free
thereafter.  I have used it for the past two years and it works great with
my laptop and Verizon cell phone.
