I've recently just acquired a new pda phone and had some questions as to
Verizon's data access plan.  When I log into my account, I see a wireless
sync option for $5/month.  What does this $5/month get me, after 30
minutes the phone with customer service, I still didn't get a clear answer
as to what I got for this additional charge.  All I was told is that it
enhanced access?  I understand the other aspects of their data access
plans, however I have the wireless sync working with my company's Domino
server, and it seems to work well, I just don't know what the wirelss sync
option gets me.

It lets you sync your phone with your computer over their system, instead
of plugging in the USB cord and syncing it directly, yourself.  If you're
already syncing, it's of no use to you.

A friend came to me with his Treo 650 (Palm OS) confused.  I had to learn
its quirks to make it work.  If you sync a database over Verizon, you
can't sync it over the cable...you get EITHER this way OR that way but
not both.  Once we told the phone and Verizon's sync service which to
sync and not to sync over the air, it worked pretty good.  He only syncs
emails over the air and all the other stuff like contact list, todo list,
calendar over the cable.  It lets him look at his emails while away from
his office....all he wanted in the first place.

If you have a working system you are happy with, don't screw it up buying
this other nonsense.  Keep what you got that works!
