I have a Motorola V276. We went skiing yesterday and my jacket got wet
but not waterlogged. I now notice that I can't hear when someone calls
me, and the other person says I sound muffled. I've tried resetting
the phone, but no joy.
Can anyone tell me some steps to take in order to fix this phone?
TIA,
grant
The phone is OK, sounds like you got yourself a cold

If you got water in it, your only hope is to remove the battery and
case (if applicable) and let it air dry 48-72 hours before
reconnecting the battery and using again.

Try to do it in a warm dry room. I mean quite warm, I use my boiler room to
dry stuff out......and give it a good day or two before firing it back up
again. I'd bet you have a better than even chance of "repairing" the phone
that way.
Your 276 is probably more than a year old, so warranty isn't likely an
issue. It's pretty widely known that Verizon uses a "moisture indicator"
which changes color from white to, IIRC, red. Change of color voids the
warranty. Apparently the thing is so sensitive it will change color if you
LOOK at a PICTURE of water. Quite a few people have reported a color change
after working up a good sweat with the phone in their pockets.
But, as I said, if your phone is over a year old, the warranty is a
non-issue anyway.
