antenna breakage is kinda odd..
at the same store with different associates, sometimes i get a free antenna
replacement. other times, i pay $10.oo. that was about a year ago on my
antenna prone startac. (replaced 5x)
i've used the equipment insurance 3x (my wife used it 5x). if it isn't
stolen, then you need to return the whole unit for replacement. the
insurance company will charge an extra $100.oo if you don't return damaged
cell phones on claims.
if it's lost or stolen, you need to file a police report with officer's ID
and report #. ($50.oo deductible).
for a broken antenna, you need to return the entire cellphone and a $50.oo
deductible. thats not cost effective. just goto your verizon service center
and see if they will replace for free, or at the mall cell phone kiosks for
replacement antennas.
We bought equipment insurance until last year when Verizon was offering 2/3
for the price of one handset. We left the unactivated extra handset in the
drawer in lieu of purchasing the insurance.
