I'm up for a new phone ("new every 2") and was considering
the LG 8350.  I'm just looking for a basic phone, good
reception, clear speaker, no bells/whistles.  Can any 8350
owners out there post a pro/con review?

Much appreciated,

Sharon

Sharon.  Is there anything wrong with your current phone?

If not, why expose yourself to the stupidity of a cellphone contract that
enslaves you to the corporation for two more years of your life?

Isn't it smarter to stay off the contract, which gives YOU, the consumer,
some say in your cellphone future?  Carriers treat you with much more
respect if you are not their slave.

I agree with your basic premise. But I, for one, like to get the latest
techno-gadget out there and usually don't care about being tied up for the 2
years, so I can relate to Sharon's position.

But, in line with what you're saying, I have a Razr V3c, like it, and don't
find that VZ has anything new that peaks my interest, so this time I'm
holding out.  They've already called me and offered me a new Krzr for $30.
I turned them down, not seeing much difference between the krzr and the rzr,
at least for my use.

The only thing out there right now which might attract my attention is if
they can finally get their version of the LG Prada, or even better, the
newer LG KS20 imported into the U.S. as a CDMA phone.

I don't exactly agree . Sharon can pay full price for the phone she wants
and have no contract, or pay a higher premium for a one year contract or get
the phone real cheap and opt for a two year contract, which for $175 she can
break at any time. You're a pretty cheap date, if you can be enslaved for
$175
