I don't see a problem in discussing Apple phones, Google phones or Nokia
phones. The problem is much of the Apple posts are for the express purpose
of annoying you, and nothing to do with constructive, instructive,
educational, discussion

I see a problem discussing GSM phones in a newsgroup that is meant for
discussions about a CDMA carrier.

I can't figure out why people can't udnerstand that.

It was because of newsgroups like this that I learned there was a
difference. I like to know about what I have in relation to what I don't
have. I certainly want to know more about Verizon and the systems they use,
but unless others are discussed, there is nothing to compare with

I'm perfectly happy with the variety of topics here. Nobody's forcing you to
read or respond to off topic posts, and by doing so, you just invite more

Correct use of the KF eliminates chronic off topic posters.  End of
problem, they are not seen again.

Sure, thats what discussion groups are for. The current issue is about
someone who is so infatuated with Steve Jobs that he wants to have his
baby and just makes nonsense posts with no value to anyone (except him.
maybe Jobs will invite him over if he does it enough).

I completely agree, while I like to see comparative information about
different carriers and phones, useless nonsense should be ignored

I think in some sense, that its ok to talk about different things not
related to Verizon, as long we can learn something from this.  I don't mind
hearing some things off the topic once in a while, but it's stupid when we
hear people posting "i phone is the best!" or " I phone is number one
seller!" Who cares? I havent heard anyone attemping to compare I phone and
Voyager set to come out soon around thanksgiving.. I havent heard any
discussion regarding three new phones coming out.  I havent heard anything
about CDMA network and GSM network.. I havent heard anything interesting
lately. I usually hear people complaining or talks about verizon.   I think
in some sense, general rules should apply to this group that we should stick
to subject that's relevant to verizon in some way.   I hope I made my point
clear.

No one in this group. They're obnoxious spamming trolling a.sholes, especially
Oxford, who makes up lies to support his trolling.

Buying an internet tablet from a cellular carrier would be like
buying a desktop computer from Comcast.....

Why would you buy anything from the bandwidth provider that will
do ANYTHING to keep you from USING BANDWIDTH without paying
them??

It just doesn't make any sense, especially as we all have a long
history to look back on with all these carriers!  What they sell
is devices that CREATE REVENUE.  They're all SELLphones!
