Our "small" company decided that it was time to upgrade our phones to a
smart phone or blackberry. We selected the Blackberry Curve as our choice. I
got a quote from VZW rep with the following.
50 Phones @ 114.99 each.
900 minutes w/ Unlimited BB Data @ 94.99/ line
Does anyone know if this is a good deal or not? I thought maybe with the
number of units we would be purchasing that it'll be cheaper, or free? No
discount on the data plan either. They just tacked on the $35.00 on our
regular voice plan.
There's got to be a better deal? $6000 initial investment and $1700 more a
month seems steep.
I think we would rather stay and upgrade with NE2 phones instead.

BTW - why the BB ?
what are your plans for email, etc ?
Do you currently have a Microsoft Exchange server, or Lotus Notes server,
that could be intigrated with the BB ?
We are running the Microsoft SBS (small biz server) for a group of 10,
and have the BES (BB server) also running to capture domain emails for the
BB.

I'm under the impression that the BB Unlimited Data plan for business users
is $45/month, which is what I was paying until they recently introduced
their new non-business user rate of $30/mo. So I think you may have gotten
a discount on the data part.
Also, I'm sure you're aware that the Curve is $150 with a 2-year agreement
for the individual user, so that $115 looks good from where I sit.
Believe me, I have three non-business cell phones with Verizon, my business
phones are on Verizon, I have FIOS internet access at the office, and my two
home phone lines were Verizon, and they did nothing for me in terms of
pricing.
