Kyocera Phone Desktop software

Mike Gurkin - 25 Oct 2003 21:39 GMT Hi,
I had to reload my PC and can't find the CD containing Kyocera Phone Desktop software that came with the data connectivity kit. I have the cable, but not the CD, so now cannot download numbers and such to my 2325.
I've looked at Kyocera and can only find an Updater download, which won't work unless you have the original software installed.
My local Verizon says I need to buy the kit again, no suprise there.
Anyone know if this software can be found for download for replacement purposes?
Thanks,
Mike

Mike Gurkin - 26 Oct 2003 01:40 GMT The 2325 isn't a Palm based phone.

But on the other hand, I had a serial cable, and my new laptop has no serial ports, so it's either "spend $120-$140 for a port replicator" or "spend $50- $80 for a USB cable" :) so I will probably end up buying one anyhow. (A new cable, that is, with a new CD.)
I would actually e-mail Kyocera off their website and ask them -- they're generally quite good about returning customer e-mails quickly.

>Really? I've never seen one. And believe me, I've looked. :) Radio Shack will rip you off for about $35, but I've seen them on the web for $25-$30. Radio Shack's part number is 26-183.

Radio Shack's part number is 26-183. Do you have a laptop with PCMCIA card slots? If so, they have dual USB cards about 36 bucks, or if a desktop PC, dual USB ports (even if your desktop has serial ports) about $21.95.

That would just give him more of the same problem he already has, not solve anything.

Then look at the PCMCIA cards that provide serial ports: http://www.serial-cards.co.uk/brainboxes-pcmcia-serial-cards.htm
Or these that provide up to 4 serial ports: http://www.adontec.com/pcmcia_e.htm
(and several dozen others)

At such time as I need to sync my contacts on the road, I'll consider the suggestions people have made here (thanks to all that made them).
